Disability Dialogue: Community Support and Advocacy

Get involved with Disability Dialogue, a space for community support and sharing experiences. Most of these interactive programs can be done online and are designed to engage everyone.  

Chain of Challenges is a support group where individuals can vent and solve their own problems. Families are welcome to join this supportive environment.  

Do it yourself Disability offers topics such as advocacy, frustrations and solutions, dieting, parenting, driving, exercising, socializing, and transportation. Participants can cover their own topics and co-lead the meetings. Don't forget to ask about the DIY booklet.  

Wheelchair Basketball may not be as easy as it sounds, but we can arrange programs for people with and without physical challenges. These activities work well at community centers and after-school programs, promoting inclusivity.  

Working on Wheels challenges you to manage your day while sitting in a wheelchair, followed by a discussion about the experience. This sensitivity activity has proven effective in fostering understanding of physical challenges.
